Banpu NEXT, Amata VN, and SolarBK have announced a strategic collaboration to develop solar rooftop projects with a combined target of 227 MW capacity at two major Amata Industrial Parks in Vietnam; Amata City Ha Long and Amata City Long Thanh, with implementation beginning in early 2026. This partnership will accelerate the green transition for customers across Amata’s Industrial Parks while underscoring three companies’ commitment to decarbonization efforts and supporting Vietnam’s Net Zero 2050 goal.

Amata City Ha Long

Building upon the successful partnership between Banpu NEXT and SolarBK, providing solar power solutions to the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector in Vietnam. The two companies represent strategic portfolio growth by expanding their reach through collaboration with Amata’s industrial estates, focusing on solar installations at Amata City Ha Long (686.82 hectares) and Amata City Long Thanh (410 hectares). This initiative responds to Vietnam’s growing electricity demand and supply challenges while supporting the country’s Net Zero 2050 ambition and National Power Development Plan VIII (PDP8), which reinforces commitment to sustainable growth and energy security. The availability of on-site clean energy provides Amata Industrial Parks with a significant competitive advantage, offering tenants comprehensive infrastructure that meets operational and sustainability needs – a crucial factor for manufacturers with decarbonization goals and long-term cost optimization strategies seeking modern, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible energy options.

Mr. Smittipon Srethapramote, Chief Executive Officer of Banpu NEXT Co., Ltd., said: “This strategic partnership with Amata VN PCL marks a significant milestone in our portfolio expansion, fulfilling the initial phase targets of our joint venture with SolarBK across Vietnam’s renewable energy landscape. By emphasizing our positioning as a leading Net Zero solutions provider in the Asia-Pacific region and leveraging our expertise alongside our partners’ strengths, we’re addressing Vietnam’s industrial sector energy security needs and growing clean energy demands with sustainable alternatives. This solar rooftop initiative not only strengthens our renewable portfolio but also demonstrates how collaborative approaches can accelerate the clean energy transition in one of the most dynamic markets in Southeast Asia.”

Ms. Somhatai Panichewa, CEO of Amata VN Public Company Limited, said: “As the pioneering Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) industrial park developer with three decades of experience in Vietnam, this collaboration represents a crucial step toward our 2040 carbon-neutral vision. By integrating these solar rooftop projects directly into our current operating and developing industrial ecosystem, we’re enhancing our value proposition for global manufacturers who increasingly prioritize sustainability and energy cost savings in their site selection process. This partnership transforms our industrial parks into green manufacturing hubs that balance economic growth with environmental responsibility.”

Mr. Nguyễn Dương Tuấn, General Director of SolarBK Group, said: “This tripartite collaboration expands our strong partnership with Banpu NEXT and allows us to leverage our nearly 20 years of experience in Vietnam’s solar industry to benefit Amata’s industrial customers. By combining our comprehensive solar power platforms with Amata’s industrial infrastructure, we’re creating a sustainable energy model that addresses both economic and environmental needs. This joint project helps strengthen our business operation and emphasizes our mission to accelerate renewable energy adoption across Vietnam’s industries while driving the country’s transition to a low-carbon economy.”

Looking forward, the three partners remain committed to supporting Vietnam’s long-term sustainable industrial development beyond this initial project. The collaboration envisions potential integration of additional clean energy technologies and services, including energy storage systems, smart grid solutions, and energy efficiency measures. Additionally, the partners aim to make significant contributions to carbon reduction targets for industrial customers while playing a vital role in supporting Vietnam’s energy transition, economic resilience, and sustainable future.
