In the morning of December 15, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Quang Tri Industrial Park project (QTIP) was organized in Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province. Leaders of Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism, leaders of Quang Tri provincial committee, departments, representatives of Singapore and Japan embassy, and Representatives of Quang Tri Development Consortium Co., LTD – a joint venture of 3 infrastructure investors including Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park J.V. Co, LTD, and Amata City Bien Hoa JSC and Sumitomo Group, has celebrated the latest milestone of the project.

Representative for Amata, Mr. Surakij Kiatthanakorn – General Director of Amata City Bien Hoa JSC and Ms. Nattamon Limthanachai – Independent Director of Amata VN PCL, have participated in the official groundbreaking ritual ceremony.

Quang Tri Industrial Park is the key project of Quang Tri province, with the total area of 481 hectares and investment capital reached over 2,000 billion VND, of which phase 1 is settled with 97.4 hectares with 504 billion VND to be invested. The Industrial Park’s target industries include textiles, footwear, packaging and printing, wood and furniture processing, and F&B.

With the advantages of strategic geographical location, identified as a future economic center along the East-West Economic Corridor connecting Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar, the project is expected to boost the economic growth, thereby to contribute to long-term development of Quang Tri province. The project is expected to create jobs for 30,000-40,000 workers when it comes into operation.

In addition, during the project’s groundbreaking ceremony, 5 enterprises signed Land Lease Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Quang Tri IP, including Winzen Holding Company (Hong Kong), Join Success Wealth Company (Singapore), along with three Vietnamese enterprises.
