On August 14, a group of delegation from Amata VN, led by Ms. Somhatai Panichewa, CEO of AMATA VN PCL, visited and held a working session with leaders of Phu Tho People’s Committee to discuss investment and development plans for the upcoming High-Tech Industrial Park Project (Proposed project name: Amata City Phu Tho – Hung King Industrial Park).

Amata VN plans to develop the Doan Hung Industrial Park into a smart city model between 2025 – 2030. The first phase will cover 300–500 hectares in Tay Coc and Doan Hung Commune. The industrial park aims to attract industries such as automotive manufacturing and supporting industries, high-tech industries, and clean energy using renewable resources.

During the visit, Ms. Somhatai Panichewa met with Mr. Dang Xuan Phong, Secretary of Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee, to discuss investment cooperation and further implement the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on strategic cooperation signed between Phu Tho Province and Amata on May 16, 2025, in Hanoi.
The discussions focused on high-tech, environmentally friendly investments that contribute to socio-economic development, including projects in electronics, telecommunications, semiconductor manufacturing, AI, mechanical engineering, automotive and motorbike assembly, and industrial infrastructure development.
Mr. Dang Xuan Phong emphasized that Phu Tho is one of the fastest-growing localities with an increasingly attractive business environment. The province pledged to facilitate investment procedures, swiftly approve investment policies, and issue investment registration certificates. Additionally, Phu Tho will support Amata in resolving land clearance issues and attracting investment projects.
Later that day, Amata’s delegation met with Mr. Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Secretary of Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Phu Tho People’s Committee, along with leaders of provincial departments. Mr. Vikrom Kromadit, Chairman of Amata Corporation (Thailand), and senior executives, joined the meeting online to discuss the project further.

On behalf of Amata, Ms. Somhatai Panichewa thanked the provincial leaders for their support and presented the 1/2000 master plan for Doan Hung Industrial Park, along with proposed next steps. She expressed hope that the Investment Registration Certificate (IRC) would be granted by October 2024, coinciding with Mr. Vikrom Kromadit’s visit to Vietnam.

Chairman Tran Duy Dong emphasized the high possibility that the Investment Registration Certificate (IRC) for the IP shall be released in early October and assigned Phu Tho Provincial Economic Zone Authority to coordinate with relevant departments to finalize the 1/2000 zoning plan by August 31. The province will also complete procedures for Investment Policy Approval (IPA), Investment Registration Certificate (IRC), and on-site project implementation.
